World Book Day 2022

1 / 3

World Book Day 2022

Reminder Thursday 3rd March is World Book Day. Pupils (and staff!) are invited to dress up as their favourite book character. If any pupils are feeling very creative, they are also invited to dress up as their favourite word. All costumes will be celebrated and judged, with the winning entries in each class receiving a prize of a book from Usbourne Books.

Sofia Fernandes, who is a past pupil of Blessed Sacrament school, will be supporting, and leading an assembly on World Book Day and the importance of reading for pleasure. Sofia will also be organising the Usbourne Travelling Book Fair which will be in the playground after school for a week (dates to be confirmed).

Pupils will also be encouraged to take part in a sponsored read- raising funds for much needed books for the school. More information to follow.

Last but not least, as all the pupils in Key Stage 2 have been reading 'Anisha Accidental Detective', and really enjoying her adventures, we will be having a special visit from the author, Serena Patel, after Easter. She will be with us all day, talking about her book and leading workshops in each class. We are very excited about her visit!
