Black History Month Assembly

Well done to all of our children for sharing what they have been learning during Black History Month this year. We were so impressed with the work they produced and the thoughtful discussions they had in class.

Saint Joseph's Class learned about Rosa Parks and came up with words to describe her character and her actions. Ms Tolani shared her Nigerian clothing with us and the children dressed up in traditional Nigerian clothing.

Saint Therese's Class have learned about John Blanke, Martin Luther King and Alma Thomas. We shared our own 'I have a dream...' speeches and our artwork based on the colours and patterns in Alma Thomas' work.

Saint Catherine's Class have been learning about Michelle Obama. They wrote letters to Mrs Obama, asking for her help in solving issues they see in our community.

Saint Anthony's Class read a beautiful poem about Harriet Tubman and shared lots of information about Black achievements in all areas, particularly in music. They sang Stevie Wonder's song, 'I Just Called To Say I Love You.'

Saint Martin's Class did independent research about Black Britons and shared some information they learned about Anthony Joshua, Marcus Rashford and other significant individuals.

The choir performed a fantastic rendition of 'Oh When The Saints' which everybody really enjoyed. Well done to all our fantastic children for their participation in Black History Month this year.
